Typographic Badges

Bug Tussle 

This little town got its name after a picnic was interrupted by a swarm of insects. I incorporated that idea into my sketch of a picnic blanket, my sketch with an ant trail, and the watermelon color scheme of the final design. 

Fate 

The phrase "Fate Brought Us Here" is from a well-known mural in Fate. Fate as a concept is like time; it's always moving forward. I went with a design like on the side of a racecar, with the wordmark slanted as if it just flew onto the screen. 

Happy 

In my sketches I played around with making text into the shape of a smile. The town was named for its river, so in one of my sketches I based it on inflatables floating down a river. I chose the final design because I liked the asymmetry and the exclamation point being "TX." 

Goodnight 

In my first sketch I based the text off the "Goodnight Moon" book wordmark. Right away the moon design was my favorite and it got little critique in class, so I didn't change the design much after my first pass.
